Summative Assessment
A high-stakes evaluation administered at the end of a learning period — term exam, annual exam, board exam — to certify what a student has learned.
Summative assessments are necessary for certification (especially at Class 10 and Class 12) but should not be the only data point. Modern schools use a mix of formative and summative.
