The Complete Pre-KG to Class 7 Admission Timeline for Warangal Parents

When to start, what each month involves and how to avoid the last-minute rush. A month-by-month admission timeline for Warangal families.

Published 15 May 2026 by Yajur Editorial Team

Most Warangal parents start school admissions in January and end up panicking by March. A better approach is to start earlier and follow a calm month-by-month plan. Here is what an ideal Pre-KG to Class 7 admission cycle looks like for families in Hanamkonda and Warangal.

September to October: Research and shortlist

Six months before the academic year, draft your shortlist of three schools. Filter by curriculum, fee bracket and commute. Read independent reviews — not WhatsApp forwards. Visit each school's website carefully: curriculum page, fee structure, contact details and social media presence reveal a lot.

November: Campus visits

Book working-day visits (Tuesday or Wednesday between 10 am and 12 pm). Each visit should last at least 90 minutes. Speak to a current parent if you can. Observe classrooms, washrooms, library, playground and the lunchtime atmosphere — not just the principal's office.

December: Forms and assessments

  1. Collect application forms from your top two schools.
  2. Submit forms with required documents (birth certificate, address proof, parent ID, transfer certificate if applicable).
  3. Schedule the child's interaction or assessment — most schools call it a 'play visit' for Pre-KG and a short academic check for Class 1 and above.
  4. Pay the registration fee (typically Rs 500-2000) — this is non-refundable.

January: Decisions and provisional offers

By mid-January, most schools issue provisional offers. You will have 7-15 days to accept. Use this time to clarify the fee structure (term-wise breakup, transport, books, uniform), payment milestones and the refund policy if you cancel.

February: Confirmation and fee payment

Pay the first instalment to confirm. Collect the parent handbook, term calendar, uniform measurements and book list. Ask which day the orientation will be held — usually a Saturday in late March.

March: Orientation and preparation

Attend the orientation as a family. Buy the uniform, school bag, lunch box and stationery. Practise the morning routine — wake-up time, breakfast, getting dressed — at least two weeks before school starts.

April-June: Academic year starts

The Telangana academic year begins between mid-April and mid-June depending on the school. Most international-curriculum schools, including Yajur, start the academic year in April.

How Yajur's admission cycle works

Yajur Public School opens admissions in October for the following academic year. Pre-KG to Class 7 seats are limited. The Quest 2026 scholarship test, held online and on-campus, offers tuition fee waivers for top scorers. Final admission decisions are issued within 7 working days of the child's interaction. If you are starting with Class 1, our Class 1 admission guide for Warangal covers age cut-offs and what to evaluate.

Mid-year and late admissions

Not every family has the luxury of starting in October. A transfer from another city, a sudden job change, a child returning from abroad — all of these create out-of-cycle admissions. Most good schools in Warangal handle these on a case-by-case basis, subject to seat availability and the child's prior school records. The key documents become the previous school's transfer certificate, the last term's report card and a brief reason letter from the parents.

If you are arriving in Hanamkonda mid-year, call shortlisted schools rather than relying on websites. Front-office staff know which grades still have seats. A polite call in April or August often beats a polished application form sent later. Schools value parents who communicate early, even when seats are tight.

Documents to keep ready

  • Birth certificate (original plus two copies).
  • Aadhaar card of child and both parents.
  • Address proof — recent utility bill or rental agreement.
  • Previous school transfer certificate and last two term reports, if applicable.
  • Four to six passport-size photographs.
  • Vaccination records — especially for Pre-KG and LKG.
