Oxford International Curriculum

A globally benchmarked academic framework published by Oxford University Press, used by international and progressive schools to teach English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Wellbeing from early years to upper-primary.

What is the Oxford International Curriculum?

The Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) is a complete, framework-based programme published by Oxford University Press. It is designed for international schools and Indian schools that want a globally consistent standard, in place of (or alongside) national boards like CBSE or ICSE. The OIC covers English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Computing, Global Skills and Wellbeing — and is designed to develop habits like inquiry, communication and resilience in addition to subject knowledge.

How is OIC different from CBSE or ICSE?

CBSE and ICSE are Indian boards that issue board certificates at Class 10 and Class 12. The OIC, by contrast, is not a board — it is a curriculum framework, often paired with internal or international assessments. Schools that follow OIC typically have more flexibility in pedagogy, place high emphasis on conceptual understanding, and integrate skill-building (collaboration, critical thinking, digital literacy) into every subject.

Why does it matter for parents in Warangal?

Choosing an OIC-aligned school in Warangal means your child learns through the same materials and standards as students in international schools across the UK, UAE and Singapore — but at an Indian fee structure. It also prepares them well for later board exam preparation (CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE) because the foundation in inquiry and applied thinking is much stronger.
